Island Junior Open - # 1

 

 

UVIC, Human & Social Development Bldg., Room A260/A250.   Open to all K -12 students.  Registration: 9:30 – 9:45am Start: 10:00 am sharp.  Finish: 2:00 – 4:00 pm.  Entry fee $15.  Format: 8-10 Rd Swiss or Rd Robin 15 minutes each player for novice section.  5 round swiss or round robin 25 min. plus 5sec. increment for other sections.  2 or 3 sections depending on turnout Tie Breaks – 5 min. blitz knockout. Prizes:  Medals and ribbons.  Light concession.   GRAND PRIX EVENT.  Chess and Math (CMA) Rated  Site hosted by University of Victoria

Top finishers qualify for Provincial Championship by Grade. 

Entry fee $10. Registration: Online www.grandpacificopen.eventbrite.com  or on site11:00 – 11:30 am  Start: 12 noon sharp. Finish: 4-5 pm. TC: 25 min plus 5 sec increment each player. Chess and Math rated. Prizes: Medals and ribbons.   GRAND PRIX EVENT

Top finishers qualify for Canadian National Championship by Age Group (CYCC) expected to be held in Victoria this year.  Registration: TBA. 

Entry fee: TBA.  Start: Sprott Shaw College  Prizes: Medals.
