The Victoria Chess Challenge is open to All BC K-12 Students (Canadian and International) UVIC H&S Dev Bldg, RM A264/A250/A270. Top finishers qualify for Provincial Championship by Grade. CMA rated
$10 Entry Fee Please arrive on site 9:30-9:45am Tournament will start at 10:00 am. Medals for 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each grade. Ribbons for all players. Grades will be combined depending on numbers at the tournament director's discretion.

Regular monthly tournaments start in September and are held at the University of Victoria. Click here for a link to the UVIC campus maps. Most tournaments are held in the Human and Social Development Bldg. Enter on the second floor at the NE corner of the building:
Tournaments starts at 10 am and will end between 1 and 3 pm. The younger grades usually faster than older. Pizza can be pre purchased at check in. Some children bring a bag lunch or even leave with their parent for a quick lunch (takeout). Lunch is usually 11:45-12:30 Parking is free at UVIC on Sunday. Look for the Victoria Junior Chess Banner. Must score 50% or top 3 and meet Chess Federation of Canada requirements for residency or citizenship to qualify for the Canadian Youth Chess Championships. Players compete in age categories: U-8, U-10, U-12, U-14, U-16 and U-18. Start time 10:00 am Reg.: 9:00 – 9:30 am (some sections may be combined). G30 5 round Swiss or round robin depending on numbers in each section Prizes: Medals and ribbons. Light Concession. CMA rated. Qualifier for the CYCC, BCYCC and BC ChessChallenge
